Why this card
The seed is a BBC report that major fashion chains, from Levi's to Primark, have begun selling visibly mended clothes as a new generation embraces repair. The imagined consequence is that visible mending moved from a niche craft to a normal high-street ritual, with repair shops as ordinary as hairdressers and patches worn as personal history. Twelve years is enough for a generation to grow up treating clothes as keepers rather than disposables, and the picture shows that everyday routine rather than the retail news itself.
