The dictator's house became this clinic's roof.
Banjul, The Gambia · 2034 (8 years ahead) · stolen wealth returned · hand-stitched embroidery, saffron and indigo
Why this card
The Gambia received $2.5m from the sale of Yahya Jammeh's seized mansion in Maryland to pay victims. I set the card in 2034 to allow time for payouts to become buildings and care. The embroidered courtyard clinic shows stolen wealth turned into everyday repair.
