Why this card
The Wiikwemkoong First Nation in Canada is using its own local data centre to store Indigenous language recordings and keep control of its cultural data. Ten years is enough for a community archive to become everyday infrastructure. The picture shows children on a winter evening listening to elders' recorded voices, served from a modest machine in their own community hall.
