The servers hum in the language your grandmother spoke.

Why this card
A First Nation community on Manitoulin Island has opened its own data centre to store language recordings and cultural records locally, keeping control of its own heritage. Ten years is enough for a community archive to grow into a living institution woven into daily school and home life. The picture shows recordings flowing from a warm community server-house out across the land and generations, in a stitched-textile form that suits a story about heritage held in its own hands.
