Why this card
Japan's JAXA is launching the world-first mission to bring back samples from Phobos, the Martian moon. The five-year flight plan puts the return capsule in hand by the early 2030s, so 2033 shows the sample freshly opened in a curation lab. The picture skips the launch and shows the quiet outcome: lunar grit under tweezers, the moon itself reduced to a poster on the wall.
