Why this card
Archaeologists announced the world's oldest known shipwreck, up to 4,700 years old, off the Turkish coast. I chose twenty years out because preserving such a fragile wreck in place and building public access around it is a slow, deliberate act. The picture shows the outcome: the wreck left on the seabed under a protective hall, lit by visiting divers instead of being broken by recovery.
