Why this card
The news: big fashion chains from Levi's to Primark are now selling mended clothes, as a new generation embraces bold patches and visible mends. Imagined for 2037, a decade on, is the next step: repair grows from a product line into the main reason to visit the shop, with former chain stores becoming busy mending halls. The picture shows that changed ritual, with neighbours queuing at the repair counter and a child showing off a patched jacket as proudly as a new one.
