The marsh came back, and brought its stripes with it.
Somerset saltmarsh coast · 2041 (15 years ahead) · Saltmarsh restoration · Layered cut-paper collage, lilac, ochre and sage
Why this card
A tiny zebra-striped bee has turned up in Somerset for the first time, a hopeful sign for the county's restored saltmarshes. Fifteen years is about how long a young marsh needs to mature into a full flowering habitat. The picture shows a grown-in marsh, thick with sea aster, where those striped bees are now an ordinary sight.
