Why this card
The Wiikwemkoong community in Canada is storing its Indigenous language recordings and heritage on a local data centre, so the community keeps control of its own cultural record. I chose 2036, about ten years out, which is enough time for a language-revival effort to bear fruit within one generation. The picture shows that outcome: elders' recorded voices are kept in a humble server down the road, and children are listening to them on a snowy evening.
