The forest pays back what the village protects.
Peruvian Amazon, Loreto · 2034 (8 years ahead) · rainforest basic income · linocut print, forest green and ochre
Why this card
The Guardian reported a Peruvian pilot where £2 a day in unconditional basic income led almost 90% of participants to adopt forest-friendly practices. I set the card in 2034, eight years on, enough time for agroforestry plots and regrowth to show. The linocut shows a Loreto riverside village tending diverse plantings before an intact canopy, the income made visible as care.
