The town turned its lights down, and the sky came out.
The Devon coast · 2036 (10 years ahead) · dark skies · night photography, aurora green and indigo
Why this card
The Guardian reports the northern lights were seen as far south as Devon, Hampshire and Kent. Ten years gives the UK's dark-sky movement time to grow from scattered reserves into a mainstream tradition of towns dimming their lights for aurora nights. The picture shows that future: a coastal town gone dark by agreement, its people out on the clifftop watching the sky.
